Drexel Hyperloop
The team consists of over 70 students with a range of different majors throughout the university; it is truly a cross-discipline project! One thing that Space-X wanted to ensure was safety: both for the pod and the tube. Since passengers would not ride this proof of concept, fire-proofing and crash mitigation were stressed. However, the Drexel team wanted to push the envelope and plan for the future. Many considerations and FMEAs were developed for future build and full scale pod design and implementation.
The team continues to design and build the 3/4 scale proof of concept and looks forward to competing in the competition.
The current competition date is set for sometime in the Winter of 2016-2017!
